Create an API key to display Windy Weather as the live map background

Windy.com is an online service providing weather weather forcast maps.

With Skipperblogs Premium and Pro you can embed the Windy weather map as your map backound. So your visitor can directly see the weather at your position.

Create your API key

An API key is a code used to identify the use of a web service. You need to create one by Windy in order to display their map on your website.

Register by Windy here https://account.windy.com/register (or login with your existing account). Once logged in, browse the page https://api.windy.com/keys and click Create a new API key

Then provide a name for the Project identification , your Website's title for example, and select Map Forcast API. Then click on Create to generate your key. It will be then displayed like on the image below :

Copy your generated API key and past it in the Skipperblogs' map configuration.

Enable Windy map on your website

Go to DashboardNav Map  and on the left panel, click on Map tab.

Select Windy weather map as map background and paste your Windy API key. Finally click save to update the map on your website.
