How can we help?

How does the File Explorer work ?

To access all your images and documents, go to  DashboardContent Files

The File explorer brings all your files together (pictures, documents) that you have uploaded. It is also used in a popup when adding an image to an article, a page, or to select a cover image. The operation is the same in these different cases

Three parts make up the file explorer: the top header that groups actions applicable to files and folders. The left vertical banner that represents the tree structure of your folders. And the middle part, the list of files, which displays the files contained in the current directory (the one selected in the left).

Upload an image, a document

The most common action used with the file explorer is to load an image so that it can be displayed in an article. In order to do so, click on Upload file  in the header. In the small popup that appears, you can either drag and drop your file to load from your computer or click Select  file or select folder  to browse files on your device.

To batch upload multiple files, either click on Select folder to send all the content of a folder or maintain the CTRL key (Windows) or Command/Cmd (Mac) to select mutliple files.

The maximal file size is 100 Mo per file and you can upload a maximal of 1000 files at a time.

Images/Photos Tips

Most of the images coming from our cameras or phones, are of a very high definition, too large for their display on a website. This is why when you send and insert an image in a text, the editor will automatically generate smaller thumbnails to match a display and a correct loading time on your website.

I advise you to reduce the size of your images to about 3000 pixels (for the longest edge) before sending them to Skipperblogs. This will not change their display in the article but it will save you disk space.

Insert one or more image(s) in an article/page

If you have opened the file explorer from the article or page editor double-click the desired image or select it and click the green Add selected files button located just above the file explorer. You can insert multiple images at once, to do this make sure to select all the desired images (by holding down the CTRL or Command key) in the file explorer before clicking Add selected files.

Insert a document

From the article/page editor, click on the insert document button located next to the insert image  button, the file explorer will then list all your document (omiting your images). Double-click on one file or select it and click on the green button Add selected files and a link to your document will be inserted in your content.

Advanced actions (rename, delete, move ,...)

You can perform a right-click on a file or folder at any time in the file list or in the folder tree. You will then have access to several actions to apply. For example, you can rename files or folders, move them (copy or cut) to another folder, and delete them.
