I had initially looked at setting up our sailing blog for family and friends using Wordpress as my research indicated it was simple for non technical people like me to set up. That was true to a point, but in searching for a template/theme I could use none easily supported a map that would show our journey, and this was a feature family had asked for. Also in comparing Wordpress themes to SB none came even close to offering all the nautical and customisable features SB offers. Trying to add these features to a basic Wordpress theme was both complicated for a novice and would likely turn out more expensive due to the cost of each add on.
Having first cut my teeth in WP, I had learnt the basics of how to set up a sailing blog, so when I switched to SB I found it very easy and straightforward. Alain helped me to deactivate my WP site and switch my domain. When I encountered something I didn’t understand Alain was very prompt in replying to my queries via a ‘Ask Support’ link. Like anything new it takes a bit of time to learn how things are done, but I found the majority of functions intuitive to use.
Take a look at my blog sailingperdika.com , I couldn’t be happier with how it has turned out. I had a clear vision of what I wanted my website to look like, and the website I have created on SB has undoubtedly exceeded all my expectations. It’s a beautiful looking website that I am very proud to share with family and friends. Plus the support I recieved from Alain was exemplary.
For me, what makes SB stand out against it’s sailing blog competitors out there (I looked at some others before choosing SB) is how simple, stylish and beautiful the themes are. And the beautiful added features such as little flags to show the countries you’ve travelled to and sailing quotes. I love the sailing quotes! ( but if it’s not your thing these features can easily be turned off.

L'interface est intuitive, j'ai rapidement pris en main l'outil. Le fait de positionner le bateau sur une carte était un vrai plus "visuel" pour que les visiteurs de notre blog sachent où nous étions. Le dimensionnement des photos était top.
Je recommande cette solution à toute personne qui cherche une plateforme de blog "clé-en-main". Alain est réactif et très aidant.

I think it's a great app for keeping track of your sail trips, both past, current and future. Unlike most (or rather all) apps, the map can be embedded on other websites. Also love the track details, custom message and weather, especially the map stats that show the distance and average speed. The only thing I'd want to see improved would be being able to import pictures from cloud services (Google photos, Dropbox etc...).Really love your app. Can tell it's designed and built by avid sailor!

I think Skipperblogs is a very good app. It is enjoyable to use and our friends and family like to follow. The result is high quality and worth the money. Some features still needs a little improvement but is very workable.

I have been using Skipperblogs for 6 months now and I am incredibly happy with the service. The support team is very responsive and helpful which is a big plus.
